TUESDAY - WEDNESDAY

Recognition is HUGE. Understanding there is something wrong is MONUMENTAL.

Imagine living your life with a huge growth on your leg and your whole life you just accepted the growth was normal, because that's the way it has always been. Then one day, you go to the beach and look around and realize, it isn't normal, everyone doesn't have one. Now, a codependent person would look around and figure everyone else is broken. Why don't they have growths??? With codependents, it is always the other people in their lives who are incompetent and broken. But what if, just what if that codependent looks at the growth on her leg and thinks, I don't like this. I want to be like them.

I believe codependents spend a lot of time comparing themselves to others and always fall short. But, that isn't recognition. The minute you find out you are codependent, you then have to look at yourself and the way you treat others and find what's wrong (almost everything) and what's healthy. Sadly, in the beginning, the way a codependent is living is not healthy. They have no boundaries and are overworked and feeling unappreciated. They want to be loved, but don't even know what that word means.
